We’re looking for a trustworthy, detail-oriented QA Engineer who takes pride in ensuring that every product we deliver is polished, functional, and professional. You’ll serve as the final line of defense for quality — checking everything from core app functionality to visual polish, spelling, colors, and user experience.
Job Summary
In this role, you’ll work closely with our engineers and designers to ensure that every feature, page, and workflow meets the highest standards.
You’ll blend manual testing, automated browser testing, and AI-assisted quality checks to catch issues early and help us deliver exceptional products at speed.
This is a role for someone who is dependable, proactive, and takes ownership of product quality end-to-end.
Key Responsibilities
• Test and verify the functionality of web and app features built using Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, and modern frameworks.
• Review pages for design accuracy, spelling/grammar, color consistency, and overall user experience.
• Write, run, and maintain automated browser tests using tools like Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
• Create AI-assisted test cases, regression plans, and visual comparisons using tools like Codex, Claude Code, or AI visual analyzers.
• Document bugs clearly, track them through resolution, and verify fixes before release.
• Collaborate directly with developers during U.S. Central Time hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM) to test new releases in real time.
• Contribute to improving internal QA processes and automating repetitive testing steps wherever possible.
What We're Looking For
• Experience: 2–5 years of QA experience in web or app testing (startup or software agency experience preferred).
Core Skills:
• Strong attention to detail — from functionality to visual polish.
• Experience with browser automation tools (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar).
• Understanding of API testing and basic web development concepts (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Ability to document test results clearly and communicate findings effectively.
AI-First Mindset:
• Comfortable using AI tools to generate, organize, and run test cases or visual checks.
• Excited to explore AI for accelerating QA workflows and improving coverage.
Bonus Skills:
• Familiarity with Rails applications, Supabase, or PostgreSQL.
• Experience using tools like Postman for API validation.
• Basic knowledge of accessibility or UX testing.
